Managing Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer that develop in men over the age of fifty.

Prostate cancer is a cancer that develops in the exocrine gland of the male reproductive system, commonly called prostate gland which exists directly under the bladder, in front of the rectum.  It usually grows slowly and initially remains confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. Prostate cancer that is detected early when it\'s still confined to the prostate gland has a better chance of successful treatment.

1. Prostate Cancer Symptoms

Prostate cancer may cause a frequent need to urinate, especially at night, difficulty starting or stopping a stream of urine, a weak or interrupted urinary stream, leaking of urine when laughing or coughing, inability to urinate standing up, a painful or burning sensation during urination or ejaculation and blood in urine or semen.

2. Prostate Cancer Management

Prostate cancer that is detected early when it\'s still confined to the prostate gland has a better chance of successful treatment. It is also recommended that men above the age of forty years should do regular check-ups and take multivitamins that will help improve prostate health.
